Product To Sheets

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Product To Sheets Chrome extension processes data while exporting product information from supported marketplace pages to a Google Sheet selected by the user.

Effective date: September 29, 2026
Short version: Product To Sheets only processes the current supported product page and the Google Sheet you choose. Product data is sent directly from the extension to Google Sheets. The extension does not use a developer-owned backend, does not sell user data, and does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.

1. Overview

Product To Sheets is a Chrome extension that lets users capture product data from supported Amazon, Walmart, and Instacart product pages and export selected fields to a Google Sheet chosen by the user.

The extension acts only when the user interacts with it, such as clicking Get Product, connecting Google, loading Sheet columns, creating a Sheet, or saving column mappings.

2. Data We Process

Depending on the marketplace, page contents, and export fields enabled by the user, Product To Sheets may process the following categories of data:

Data category What may be processed Why it is needed
Authentication information Google OAuth access tokens handled through Chrome's chrome.identity API. To access the Google Sheets API on behalf of the user.
Web browsing activity The URL of the current supported product page when the user chooses to capture that product. To identify the marketplace, product, and Product Link field.
Website content Product title, product ID, brand, image, variation, current price, original price, stock, rating, rating count, and Amazon's displayed Bought in Past Month value when available. To export the fields selected by the user.
Google Sheet information Spreadsheet ID or URL, tab name, column headers, and sheet values needed to identify the destination row and columns. To map fields and write product data to the correct Sheet location.
Extension settings Enabled fields, column mappings, selected spreadsheet, tab name, and local Google connection-state preference. To preserve the user's configuration between sessions.
Product To Sheets does not intentionally collect health information, payment card information, personal communications, precise location, or keyboard/mouse activity.

3. Google Account Access

Google authorization is performed using Chrome's chrome.identity API and Google OAuth. The extension requests the Google Sheets scope so it can read the structure of the selected spreadsheet and write product data to that spreadsheet.

OAuth access tokens are managed by Chrome and are not saved in the extension's settings. Product To Sheets does not request Google profile, Gmail, Google Drive browsing, or contact-list access.

4. How Data Is Used

Data is used only for the extension's single purpose: exporting product information selected by the user from supported product pages to the Google Sheet selected by the user.

Supported product page
Product To Sheets extension
Google Sheets API
User's Google Sheet

Product data is not used for advertising, credit decisions, user profiling, or purposes unrelated to this feature.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

Product data is sent directly from the browser extension to the Google Sheets API for the spreadsheet chosen by the user.

  • Product To Sheets does not sell user data.
  • Product To Sheets does not transfer user data for advertising.
  • Product To Sheets does not use a developer-owned Apps Script endpoint or custom backend server.
  • Product To Sheets does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Google processes data sent to the Google Sheets API according to the user's Google account settings and Google's applicable terms and privacy policies.

6. Local Storage and Data Retention

Product To Sheets stores configuration in Chrome extension storage so the user's setup persists between browser sessions. This may include the Spreadsheet ID or URL, sheet tab name, enabled fields, column mappings, and the local connection-state flag used by the Disconnect feature.

Captured product data is not retained in Chrome extension storage as a product database. After a capture operation, selected product fields are written to the user's configured Google Sheet.

Stored extension settings remain until the user changes them, clears extension data, or uninstalls the extension.

7. Security and Remote Code

All runtime JavaScript used by Product To Sheets is packaged with the extension submitted to the Chrome Web Store. The extension does not download or execute remote JavaScript, WebAssembly, or other executable code.

Requests to Google Sheets are made over HTTPS. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but the extension is designed to minimize data handling and avoid unnecessary data transmission.

8. User Control

Users remain in control of both the marketplace data and the destination Google Sheet. Users can:

  • Choose which product fields are enabled.
  • Map each enabled field to a specific Google Sheet column.
  • Change or remove the configured spreadsheet and tab.
  • Disconnect Google from the extension Settings page.
  • Revoke the extension's Google access from their Google Account permissions.
  • Uninstall the extension at any time.

9. Google API Services User Data Policy

Product To Sheets' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs is limited to providing the extension's user-facing Google Sheets functionality.

Use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Product To Sheets changes functionality, permissions, supported services, or data practices. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date on this page.
